Zoom Chat with Irving Schild, who was 12 when he fled from Saint Martin Vésubie in 1943
After fleeing over the Alps into Italy, Irving managed with his family to get to Rome. After Rome’s liberation by the Allies in 1944, they were among 1000 refugees invited to the US by President Roosevelt to Fort Ontario in Oswego, NY.
